I have a very short list of tangible, useful skills. I can throw and catch a frisbee. I can make edible and sometimes enjoyable dinners. I know all of the words to “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” There are a few more, but “remembering things” isn’t one of them so you’ll have to take my word for it.
One of my particular set of skills has led me to many a free cheeseburger, pint of beer, and t-shirt. Temporary pleasures, yes, but what other kind of pleasure is there? I’m talking about bar trivia. And, like Lorde, I’m nothing without my Team (in fact, that might be the only thing I have in common with Lorde).
Part of of my team is a Mr. Tony Ditta, a future Doctor of Economics, board game aficionado, vegetarian, Doggfather, former roommate, and Pearl Jam devotee. The first descriptor in that last sentence should tell you that he’s incredibly smart, and the other descriptors should tell you that he’s incredibly cool. Tony had a brilliant idea to start a cultural quiz show podcast, based on our mutual love of trivia and audio-based media. Ladies and gents...it’s a good show. Tony comes up with questions and categories so pithy and goofy that they would give Alex Trebec another heart attack, and I try to answer those questions “in the comedic style.” And we have GUESTS.
I don’t know what else to tell you. You’re either going to listen or you’re not (please do though). It would also really help if you subscribed, rated and reviewed!
